Skystone AKA Jim Johnson

Anybody know whatever happened to Jim Johnson? Last I heard from him he was migrating to Tucson, Az. Anybody seen him out there in the brush and cactus?

We have a Jim Johnson here in Olympia, WA, but he's been here for years. Probably not the same guy, but he's posted a few times on SSW. His book on model airplane historical collectables is a must-have. He's been slowed down by an ugly divorce and some broken ribs (at work, I think). I'd like to see Jimmy out flying this summer...

Yeah, that's the Jim Johnson I was thinking of. Met him once at a VSC. Nice guy. And that's quite a book he published. Haven't heard a word about him moving to Tucson -- but wouldn't be surprised if he did. After all...everyone else has (or will).

This Jim Johnson used to go by Skystone01 on EBAY and sold plans. Last email I got from him showed him on tractor clearing the land around his house for a couple circles. Also showed his outbuildings for building. Claimed he was going to the last VSC to sell plans. Haven't heard from him since.

Divorce is over, I am living in a four bedroom house now by myself...

I can paint in my own house for the first time in 16 yrs. I am thinking of Model Planes every day. I have several to finish and will be back on the stunt circut next year for sure.

I know the guy you are thinking of. I think I have his email somewhere on my computer. Didn't he also sell the Cox engines modified?

The book Flying Model Collectibles has been selling steady world wide and I will eventualy get #2 out there on the racks. I have some great stuff collected for the next book.

I have sold a bunch of engine recently. Colin from down under got one of my many Fox 35s, an early one. We email back and forth, I just love the new stunt flyer...so many questions.

I do want to say, the guys here in the Northwest are the best friends and people a man can have in his life. A great bunch of guys.

I am also "grooming" a 12 yr old right now...I need someone to launch for me. We will be building a plane real soon. If you know a single mother with a boy just coming into his teens, give him some old magazines and you have a friend for life....these boys need men in their lives. Hopefully I will get to bring him to some contests this next year.

And Steve....I don't know about some of the emails I get from you, I can't send them to my mother.

I have missed all of you very much, stunt flying is the most fun you can have with your clothes on...

Jimmy...next year, plan on riding shotgun on the drive to Edmonton. You can get across the border, right? In '07, we will require a passport to get back into the USA. I like Canada & all, but I don't want to stay there, ya know? Steve

That's great Jim! Usually the ex get the house, you get the payment, and live in the homeless shelter.

To the best of my knowledge he was in Escondido CA.

I sent him an email over a month ago.

I did not get any automatic messages back that the email was no longer available and he never responded either so I don't know what's up.

Walter, that is the same contact info. I have and has the same results as you. He claimed to live 25 miles west of Tucson out Ajo road in the Kit Peak area.
