new from Brodak

I just received the copy (full color, too!) for the next Brodak ad that will be in the July STUNT NEWS. Besides introducing the "B-25 Silver", there are several new kits mentioned.... the "Super Fly", a P-40B, a Viking and the Bi_Slob..... my guess is that most will be available at the Brodak event. e-mail me for a pdf copy of the ad.... it's really well done.

As to dates for release, it is never a sure thing.

The following are listed in the new catalogue as "Coming Soon"

P-40B. $79.99. This is a profile semi-stunt along the lines of the other warbird profile series. 53 1/4 inch span, 560 square inch area. Length, 40 inches. It looks like it has a basla tripler on the inside nose to add a little more scale effect.

Bi-Slob. $69.99. We all know what this is. A biplane of 30 3/8 span, 600 square inches for .25-.35 (Fox 35 is perfect) engines. "Imagine performing any maneuver that you can dream up! Use only a quarter of a circle, square loop in ten feet or less, vertical eights with the top loop under 45 degrees, consecutive loops so tight that the plane pivots on the end of th elines, all with equal turning ability for both inside and outside maneuvers." And they forgot about the "saber dance."

Super Fly $43.99. "The first pure racing design to be added to the Brodak line...will comply with all fox racing, slow rat racing and most local sport racing rules." 40 inch span, 304 square inches. Engine size, .35-.40 Don't expect to stunt this one.

Oh yeah, and another question, and I promise I won't make any Viking jokes (which usually run along the lines of rapaciousness, pillaging and plundary, along with plain robbery...whoops, there I go...)

Anyway...How will this anticipated Viking kit differ from the (I think it was) Golden State version? I have sold a couple of these kits, and have seen one fly. Nice model, that.

PS: Saw Nils fly his Bi-Slob at the recent NWCLR, with Scott Riese then taking a turn with it. Scott seemed to be less concerned, shall we say. The thing goes so slow, it's hard to imagine how it could be damaged very much in a goof. Buy one or two!

Any news on their new 40 engine, like has anybody got one , and how do it work? Is it listed in the new catalog? I'm really looking forward to this one, hope it turns out to have good 40 size power and user friendly.

It should have both (good power and user friendliness). But, they aren't in yet (still waiting). I plan to get a couple when they do come in. We shall see.

I got my #12 Brodaks catalog Monday and the new Brodak .40 is listed in the catalog. Page 79. Title: Introducing the new Brodak 40 engine. Part number:B#-1340; Only $99.99. No other particulars in the adv.

I called last week and ordered one of the new engines. I was told that they are not yet in the country. Mine is on back order.

I sure, knowing how John B. does business, that they will be as good as he can make them, and that they will be backed up, both by service, and parts.

For the price, it all seems like a pretty good deal to me.
