Anyone attending Brodak's and intending to do "Junkyard Wars" -

We're bringing enough crates for 24 teams. Since we've been getting alot of inquiries and we're afraid there may be more entries than that we'll be eliminating the 3 person team rule. After we arive Wed night, well put a signup sheet with the girls at the tent... if we get more than 24 teams, we're going to encourage some combining of the teams. Since this is a fun event held "outside" John's regular contest activities, time won't allow more than that and get flights in before dark.

Also for some clarification here's what you need to bring:

Motor up to .25 disp. (No Nelsons please... McCoys are looked upon favorably by the judges!)
Tank, tubing etc.
Bellcrank, leadouts, pushrod, horn. (Prefab OK)
All fastners
All cements, tape, etc.
All tools - NO AC power tools, please. Battery op OK.

Have seen many of these events on Windy's vidoes, looks like a hoot. Competion is feirce and fun.

Do you guys still try place it in the garbage can after a successful lap ?

Danny always looks like he's having fun.

We used to fly a slightly different version of this here in South Australia years ago called the crate race.
Each team provided a motor, tank and control system. The organisers provided broken up crates.
Sounds familiar so far doesn't it.
In our race, the CD would blow a whistle/horn/scream/whatever. The first team to fly two consecutive laps was the winner!

Can't remember what the record was - something silly no doubt. That two lap rule was a killer if I remember rightly. I remember attempting to launch our effort and discovering why we were required to wear hard hats.
