Checking wind on the internet

I saw a post talking about a favorite weather site and I think the one I go to is the only one that will tell you wind speed hour by hour forcast for the day and next 48 hours. I check it a day or two before planning my flying days. It is not always correct but more than not. http://www.weather.com enter your city in the search location bar. Once you get there it is a 10 day forcast, the first 3 days have a highlite above the date, such as June 12, denoting the day ,such as Wed. or today, click on this highlited day and the next page is a hour by hour report of the forcast. wind, humidity, temp, feels like temp, uv rating etc.. If you want to check the city you are traveling to for a contest just type it in the search bar.

Good information. I think there is a site having to do with sailboating that will give you even finer-grain data. I believe it was mentioned in a column in Model Aviation some years ago.

Glad to see a source on weather listed as I am going to be doing some real flying soon. Flying from North Carolina to Spokane and when I return the squash in my garden should be ready to harvest.

This is the one I use. Since it is personal, I don't know if it will work for everyone, but I have it set up for four locations. Any of you can use it by loggin in as a different user and personalizing it for whatever location you wish to view. You have four different locations you can set up and get a 48 hour, hour by hour forcast which includes temperature, wind speed, and wind direction.
