Well, here we are sitting 50 feet from the crashing waves of Keauhou Bay, Kona Coast Hawai'i. The weather is partly cloudy (at the moment), about 85 degree and very muggy. Tough life. Fun trip. Found out half way to the Honolulu airport that there had been an earthquake right off the coast from where we were staying. Oh joy. Landed at Honolulu and there was no power on the island. We sat in the inter-island terminal waiting for a hopper flight to the Big Island for about 8 hours. We were booked on Hawaiian airlines but they just couldn't seem to get it together. Do these folks have a plan to operate without power? Strangely, Aloha airlines, Go airlines and a variety of local island hoppers didn't seem to be having much problem. We were told that they weren't as computer dependent. We did eventually get a flight out of Honolulu.

Sigh...
So, we left Sea-Tac On Sunday morning at about 7:40am Seattle time and ultimately arrived at Kailua-Kona airport on Monday morning at about 4:20am (Seattle time). Waited two hours for the luggage, but it didn't show. Head hit the pillow at about 8am (again, Seattle time - Hawai'i is 3 hours ahead - two hours when the rest of us are off daylight savings time) They called about 10am local time this morning to tell us we could pick the luggage up - it had finally made. they offered to deliver it but somehow just seemed a better idea to pick it up. The joys of traveling: Don't bug me, I'm on vacation!!!!
Hey, how tough could it be. We are in Hawai'i after all.
