OK, so it is not a control line plane. But I couldn't help it. Maybe we could add a belcrank and some lines. Any volunteers to hang on to the handle? (I wonder if this one could use a Rabe rudder!)

Neat. What amazes me is that it is on E-bay and there are actual bidders. These guys got more money than they need.

It's one neat aircraft and I think that the Thunder Mustang is about the same scale. Also, there was a Spitfire about the same scale built in the UK some years ago. Only problem with the Spit was that it used a horizontally opposed engine (Lycoming I think) and the cheek cowls looked awful.

I have seen it done before. At the RC Scale Nationals there was an entry of a Neuport reproduction. The guy did it mostly because he wanted a tail wheel and not a tail skid... Much better for asphault...

Hey, I think I saw this thing fly while in the USAF, stationed in Biloxi MS (Keesler AFB), around '92 or '93. Probably the same aircraft, since this says it is in southern Mississippi. They did a show at the Base Open House, had a P-51 (full scale) chase him up and down the runway while they set off "bombs" along the runway, at the end of the show the Mustang did a loooong vicory roll real low to the ground, very impressive.

An update

Have a look at www.supermarineaircraft.com/ for an Aussie-built 80% Spitfire.

It has a horizontally opposed engine as well so the nose is wrong on this one as well but interesting.

Come on Len. Now's the time to stop being coy. I saw the leadouts on the left wing and someone was telling me that Matt's right forearm is looking rather larger than the left. This is next year's nats model isn't it.
