When I come in here I only occasionally see the ( On my screen ) yellow flags that indicate the latest messages that I have not read. Why only occasionally does this happen ?

Sometimes you are logged in, sometimes you are not. At least that is what I am assuming is happening. Check to make sure you are logged in (It will show on the upper right of the "lobby" screen.)
Once you are logged in, don't log out. Just click the "mark all" icon at the top when you leave and leave. Then when you come back, you wll be logged in and the yellow flags will show up.
Some people with two name log in names (like yours) have reported problems on occasion which is a "clink" in the software. The solution here, if you want both names on your log-in, is to use a connector such as Bill_Sawyer. You would have to re-register to do that since I can't change log-in names, but I would check first to make sure that you are logged in. (also, when you do log in, check the box to have windows remember your password. This also makes it easier for you to log in.)
