Sandpiper

Recently I have been going through some old boxes and found the front end set of plans for a plane called the Sandpiper. The plans contain from the nose to the rear portion of the canopy. Down at the bottom of the plans there is a ledger with the planes record. This contains the following. Sanpiper MKI 5th at the '64 NATS, 3rd '64 South??????? Sandpiper MKII 3rd '64 Shriev??????,2nd '64 Irvin??????, Sandpiper MKIII, 1st Irvin????, 4th '67 Cincinnatti, 3rd '67 Columbus, 3rd '67 Parke?????, 3rd '67 West ???????, and 5th '67 F???????? The story goes that this designer lived around the Columbus, Ohio area obviously around the 1967 period. My Uncle still has the Sandpiper with an I beam wing. This plane is missing the rudder and canopy, but the plane still exist. I believe it is the MK II. Does anyone have any information about this plane and it's designer?
