2001 COLD Stunt Contest

It's official, the 2001 second annual COLD Stunt Contest is on for July 21-22nd here in Central Oregon! I just received the AMA sanction papers today.
Due to popular demand the schedule will be changed a bit from last year. This year we will be having a two-day event. We’ll be flying Old Time Stunt & Classic Stunt on Saturday, July 21st, & the four PAMPA classes of Precision Aerobatics on Sunday, July 22nd.
We don’t have all the details worked out yet, but we will definitely be providing lunch for contestants on Sunday once again. One of our club members has promised an Alaska salmon for the B.B.Q., plus whatever dead-animal-du-jour presents itself, as well as corn on the cob & whatever else we can scare up. Personally, I’m hoping for more elk-kabobs, I’m working on it.
We have all the manpower we need for the contest with the exception of qualified judges, particularly OTS judges, so if anyone wants to volunteer to help please contact me via email. Don't forget; all judges eat for free whether they enter anything or not! (I figure a little bribe couldn't hurt.)

There was a day when I almost would have taken you up on that "all you can eat for free" offer, but what is with this "COLD" stunt contest in July? Now some places up in Canada or Alaska, I could understant. (Summer there is one Thursday in August, or *Maybe* a Tuesday in July.) But Oregon? You might not even have air conditioning after California gets through sucking all of the electricity out of your dykes. (This is a family oriented board. Don't want to use that other word.)

We here in the Arctic Circles CL MAC invite Nils to move the contest to Ruksakinmakiak if the eventuality you envision arises. I cannot promise temperatures below 60° F., however.

OS, any chance y'all can send a team down from Ruksakinmakiak? If you can bring along some Moose Ribs for the BBQ, it'd be mighty nice, too. With the Canadian NATS being back east again, there should be a better turnout from the "Eh Team", too. Who'll get the "Distance Award"? Will Happy Howard find a longer route? Or will his GPS malfunction and....oh, no, he could end up at Beer Can Cove! Seriously, Nils and his crew ran a great contest last year. You don't wanna miss the bigger and improved version. Steve

SURE another contest just what we need. I hope that you'll have as good a weather as you had last year. The food it's ok if you like GAME. The prizes is ok. THE view could be better. GEE I guess I'll come over there.....LOL For the people that don't know this COULD be the most beautiful place to fly in the world.
