Gents;
Some one told me that Sig used to make a Fokker D-7 profile and a Sopwith Camel profile. A note from Sig said plans were no longer availible. Does anybody still have plans for these two old biplanes? Thanks. Steve D.

Sig made a Fokker and a Spad, not a Sopwith Camel. I have the Spad plans. You can have a copy if you like. I think I have the Sig magazine that had an extended article (and maybe small plans) for both. They flew them Combat.
I also have the Fokker, with a Aldrich ABC Fox. Fast.
By the way, Johnny Casburn offered a very similar SE-5 profile in the '60s.
Another bipe profile is the quite rare Springfield Models F4B4. I have this kit without plans (you don't really need them for a profile). It takes a .15-19. Due to the rarity, I would like $100 shipped for it, by the way.
My Spad is partially done; wings and fuse are done, but nothing is attached. It will come out light!
And then there are my own scratch bipes: Bipe Dreams I and II. They both have foam wings.
Don't get me started on bipes. ( And I won't get into the full fuse ones, like the Flyin' Fool, the Lakes Trainer and...).

I got some email regarding the Sig Spad plans. At least one of my responses was returned, so let me say here that the plans are full size, and I'll supply them to anyone for $12 shipped. I'll throw in the Sig magazine article about the Spad and its companion model, the Fokker. This alone will provide quite a bit of interesting reading. It talks you through the construction (which you don't really need) and also briefly discusses the combat.Also a few photos. You get a small view of the Fokker plans with the article, which you could Kinko up to full size.
(Kinko: verb. To enlarge a paper image with a photocopier. Is this the first usage? Shall I call the Oxford Dictionary for attribution? Nah).

But when I think about the extra labor to add a second wing to a built-up winged plane, I shudder at the thought of trusting that much effort in a combat circle that doesn't have the entire flight path covered in foam padding!
I've never built a bipe of my own. Probably never will. Lazy, and trifling, that's what my Grandfather would've said . .
