Old Plans

I'm in posession of a number of old (early 50's) C/L plans from Hobby Helpers. Does anyone know of a website where I can get some information about these oldies? Thanks in advance! Gary

Many of us flew when some of the old time planes were current designs

Also, many who visit this site have extensive resources to look up stuff.

I'm curious as to their value, if any. Also, what are your thoughts on preservation/storage. All are from the early 50s. Some are deteriorated to the point where the paper is worn through at the folds. Can I use regular scotch tape to repair them or is there something preferable? Gary

The plans aren't worth a great deal since there are copies readily available of most all. I have some that deteriorated a bit as you say. Regular Scotch tape won't work well if you plan to fold them again. I use Scotch Removeable Magic Tape to hold them together when I copy them. Then I roll the copy for storage. Folding them is easier and cheaper for shipping. Folding them is easier for storage since it takes much less room. Folding them is easier even to catalogue them and find them again. But rolling them or storing them flat is the best way to preserve them long term.

Some of the older plans are blueprints and you need to keep them out of the sunlight. Otherwise they will fade.
