3000th Visitor To This Forum

Word on the street is that Leonard feels bad about not giving a prize to the 1500th visitor. We are approaching 3000, and he is going to make amends by giving a Brodak kit of choice to the 3000th visitor.

Is this one of those unsubstantiated rumors?

Actually I considered it, but I was afraid the forum would go dead at 2998 while everyone waited for the next person to "punch in" and they could follow. Sort of like sniping on e-bay (Look, guys, that word prints here.)

And then if everyone punched in at once, how do we prove who was the "true winner."

See how many problems a rumor like that can cause. You don't want to the the cause of more problems, now do you?

Of course, the new "Inviso" plane from Brodak could make a real good prize. It uses totally invisible wood, invisible covering, and an invisible engine that makes absolutely no sound. Only the flyer has any knowledge of where the plane is at (since we can feel it on the end of its invisible lines). Now, to my way of thinking, a judge can never assume anything and must only subtract for errors that he actually sees. So, if he does not see the plane in flight, and cannot even hear the plane in flight, he can detect absolutely no errors in the airplane's flight path and must, therefore, judge every flight of the Inviso plane with a perfect score.

This is going to open a new era of competition at the Nats where everybody known to be flying one of the new Inviso planes will end up tying for the Walker Cup. Of course, all contestants will still be 20 points away from absolute perfection since they will be flying without appearance points. After all, how can you award appearance points to a plane that does not appear?

I was sure I had "treed" you with this one, but you slipped away unscathed! If the Inviso is an ARF, send me one, and I will pay you in Inviso $$s!

Maybe Leonard would just do a special blessing of the newest model of the 3000th visitor? Besides, how do you know what number your posts are? Steve

actually I get the last 20 points didn't i just tell you that the finish was 'flawless' with a finish that you could just 'disappear' in
