Ages ago I purchased a McCoy 35, what was different
than other mills ,it has a fined crankcase and a some what
larger diameter cooling fins on the cylinder.
It's a strong runining engine and it sems to turn higher
RPMs than most.
I belive this engine was a special addition by Testors.
Any information regarding this would be appreciated.

The primary McCoy products sold by Testors were (nickname for Richard, gets bleeped out) McCoy's own design of the Red Head 19, Red Head 29, and Red Head 35, none of which had finned crankcases. Then Bill Netzeband started on a new Testors engine design for the 1970's (came out in 1971 or 72 and is referred to as either the Series 21 or as the "Black Head").

Some airheaded marketing management types at Testors insisted on the strange "square" lower end as a gimmick. The Black heads were way too heavy & seriously ugly, but they did run stronger than the older McCoy engines.

Describe the engine a little more. Black head?? Cooling fins on the case run parallel to the shaft?/ Got a ring right at the top of the piston??

The rights for the Testor's Series 21 is now owned by RJL/MECOA. You may be able to get some parts from them if needed. My .19 has a dykes ring. From what I've read, you need to make sure the ring is free at all times or it will wear out quickly. Make sure you put some after run oil in it to free up any castor oil gum that may be preventing ring movement.
If you tend to build tail heavy, you may not need nose weight
