LAST EDITED ON Mar-16-01 AT 00:35 AM (EST)

I have not heard or seen anything in print about LEGACY kits actually being available, but read on another forum about a guy who not only has one, but has it flying already. I think it's about a year since the first ad in MA. Are they available? Any word on the Strega? Leonard? Steve

Steve:

The kits are available.... John's Clifton Hobby has had a couple.

My guess is that the "flying" examples are prototypes. The aeroplane, as I understand, is based upon the Buccanneer 746 (an ex-Hopkins foam kit), which, again as I understand, is based upon a Hunt Genisis 46 planform.

Steve,

Contact Allen Brickhaus for any questions on this plane. He is the designer and can fill you in on the 'legacy' of this airplane. His email address is:

[email protected]

I'm sure Allen will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

No Strega yet, but the Legacy kits are definitely here. I just shipped four to Japan and have shipped several elsewhere. I found that the boxes that the shiping tubes come in, courtesy of our Yew Knighted Straits Government, will hold three Legacy size kits nicely for foreign or domestic shippment. I gotta sell more plans so I can get more boxes (the outer onces, not the plans boxes). I think there are several flying by now, but some people build faster than others (or don't spend as much time on finish.)

Thanks for the info, guys. I really expected to see some news about the actual shipping of these kits, but maybe I'm expecting too much? I'll have to email Leonard about getting a kit Steve

I just completed a Legacy I actually found at a Tulsa hobby shop. Although I modified the fuselage somewhat, the kit was excellent. It's ready to fly, but I'm waiting for a day that I don't have either work or too much wind.
I'd recommend this kit. I put in a Fox .46 BB because it was the only C/L engine I could find that was affordable. Of course, I now know about these boards and E-Bay. Oh well.
