I want the plans to your plane! The Heretic! Do you have them? I have seen the plane just to long to get a good look at how you are building it and the numbers and all that cool stuff!

If you have them in CAD you can just email to if not I will pay you for them. Either way I and I am sure many others would like to see the plans for that beauty!!

Just don't build the wing take apart the way I did. It's was, ah, less than optimal. Fun plane to fly. The plans are drawn by hand on real paper. <grin> If you email me your snail mail address, I'll be glad to send you a copy.

Have to comment on your beautiful looking plane. Wouldn't mind a copy of the plans either. Lets see some pictures of some of your stuff. Your workmanship looks great. Good color choices. What does the bottom look like. It appears to be a 4 stoke. What was your choice of motor, prop and tank type?

Well, this plane is interesting. The original power was an RCV 58CD 4 stroke engine. Worked very well...until the rotary gear striped. Had about 3 hours on it. It was repaired and I managed to get a whole 10 flights out of it before the gear striped again. If you don't know these engines, they are a rotary valve 4 stroke engine made in Britian. Lots of potential, but apparently too fragile. The engine was replaced with a Saito 56 and flew pretty well on that. The plane is a take-apart with the wing coming off in one piece. At a contest late in the season last year, the joint where the wing bolts to the fuse came apart and things got interesting. It was quite windy (20-25mph) but I did manage to get it down without crashing it. As soon as my classic plane is done, I'm planing to build a new fuselage for it. It's pretty high aspect ratio (about 7.2 to 1) and while it will absolutely turn on a dime and stop turning even quicker, it does suffer from relatively high sensitivity to turbulence. Controlable, but noticable.

Sure was a fun plane to fly... and will be again. Someplace in Len's archives are a bunch of pictures of it.

Another lovely airplane. Unusual partial span flap configuration, more like real "flaps".

Randy seems reluctant to admit that he's truly an artist.. (I wish he'd do an SN article 'splainin' how he put this art on the wingtip.)

I love the appearance of this ship, but I love the elliptical one even more. (That one virtually DRIPS Zen..)

Sure looked cool in the air. Thanks for the complement.

Take my word for it; Randy does build great planes. He is also a great mentor as we met two years ago and we live only about 35 miles apart; he has taken every opportunity to provide instruction, counsul and guidance on any aspect of modeling. We fly often together. I publically than him for his support and other stuff beyound the call of duty to support me and others in the sport of PA.
