For economic reasons I have 2 throttled engines (OS type- .25 and .40) which I would like to use on two control line models I am building. I was told that you can rig up a throttle linkage to hold throttle open at desired speed/rpms. Anyone out there done this and if so I would appreciate any suggestons.
Throttled engines for control line

Mike:
My blush is that the carbs should be wired wide open.
The problem with carbs and learning cl is that they break off when the ground grabs.....sometimes capturing the casting from the motor.
I would strongly suggest that you purchase a venturi/spray bar from a vendor? Len?

#2 sourceI agree with Mr. Peabody. You can probably sell the throttle and regain some of the cost, if not all. Steve

You can just wire it wide open, or just use a horn and kwik-link to make it ground adjustable. This can help slow the airplane down if you get to the 4" of pitch and the airplane is still too fast. As pointed out in the other responses, the R/C carb is more fragile than a traditional venturi. But it works fine as is.
