"From your left, Ladies and Gentlemen, the 4 ship diamond of the United States Air...", oops, that's not right.

"International Rescue calling Thunderbird 2, International..", no, that's not it, either.

Forget the puppet strings and the formation flying. Here's the definitive Bob Palmer design which has been kitted by VECO, Dumas, Aero Engineering, RSM and Brodak that I know of.

Wouldn't you know I'd get them all going in the same direction but one. I guess he must be the solo performer, Thunderbird 5

T bird #5 is Larry Oakley's. It's good to see he made it to VSC. Note the control access hatch behind the canopy and that airplane, is kote, fuse and all.

I'll see it again soon, assuming it survived the VSC and will take a look. Larry was in a pretty big rush, got there late and probably left as soon as his second flight was complete.

Larry Oakley's thunderbird was signed by Bob Palmer. I was standing there when he did it. However can't remember if it was Sat. or Sunday. Yes all the T-birds are signed by Mr. Palmer as were a number of other Palmer designs.

Thunderbird #1 was built by Mark Gerber. It won "Spirit of 64" at VSC 14. Thunderbrd #4 is the First version of the Thunderbird with an upright engine.
