MacFarland's original Ruffy was, the kit version however suffers from a LOT of the "trying to stuff a big airplane into a small airplane box" syndrome, plus being made by Sterling.
Built off plans, with decent wood, it is nice though.
And NO, it is NOT OTS legal, Classic yes...

Jerry, I really like the OTS models...Barnstormer, Viking, Humongous and many others. They would be a good fit for our "Pee Patch" flying field. Simple, easy to build, great finish not required, fairly strong if not carrying batteries and stuff, no flaps to complicate trimming issues, etc. But I can't see trying to learn two patterns at our stage of flying expertise. The OTS pattern is VERY different and trying to learn one is enough. Two will cost you some airplanes, IMHO. Steve
