When I was a kid, as if I no longer am, in the early 50's my Dad had a Top Flite "Little Rascal". My whole family, including cousins and uncles learned to fly with that plane. It was powered with an .049 and just lumbered along giving plenty of reaction time to who ever was piloting.

With 3 kids here in my neighborhood, I'd dearly love to get my hands on a "Little Rascal" or a set of plans for it.

Can anyone help me with this?

Or how about a Sig Skyray. I taught my oldest son to fly with one in a very short period of time.

Chip, I have an old Skyray 35 that i learned on a whiel go, you can have for free if you want to teach them with it. It needs the one side of the wing glued back on, but besides that it'll be ready to go with a motor. It flies good and is a good beater to learn somebody with.

My vote is the Plastic Fantastic 24 over a grass field. Crash all day, no damage! Mine must have been stuffed in at full power 20 or more times by the people learning on it.

Thanks everyone, but my heart's really set on finding one of those Li'l Rascals or the plans for one. I believe Top Flite called it a Li'l Rascal, with a 27" wingspan, for either FF or CL.

Hi Chip; I have Little Rascal drawings that a friend from San Diego
did last year...I am very familiar with that model...not c/l but in
F/F mode...I had two of them powered with Cox Pee Wee's...I started
both engines and released them simulaneously, they climbed just
like Goldberg Zippers...that was a lot of fun,no D.T.'s of course.
I'll have to search some ancient musty archives in the garage, I also
will have to move my sailboat out of the way first..I hope you're
not a real big hurry....Tony

It seems as tho often the memories are better than the reality??
