I will not be seeking nomination for the revered and honored position of District 11 Dictator for the 2004-2005 term.

As nominations need to be handled come the Nationals, maybe the NW Regionals this coming weekend is a good time and place to see who is interested in fame and spreading B.S. far and wide.

In my view we have two strong (potential) nominees in Bruce (Heavy Stunt) Hunt and Steve Helmick. Are there any others out there who are interested in a bi-monthly slog at the 'puter just to belong to the PAMPA Sekrit Kabal?

I'd vote for Steve, but I live in Dixie Land, but do visit the great north west on occassion. Can I vote when I visit??

Dan,

I think we should nominate Pat Johnston...when he isn't looking.

I would decline the nomination...but I think Howard would do a fine job. Nils might be another likely suspect. Bruce or Pat would do a good job also. So many choices! Steve

Steve,

I know Pat haunts this board occasionally, though I've never seen him post. We should rope the likely suspects this weekend and see if we can get any to agree.

Wow, I am thinking that we will all be due for a dues decrease when the size of Stunt News drops 25%.

That's a little tacky. I really enjoy Dan's stuff.
Does one have to be a District 11 resident to nominate a replacement? Does the replacement have to be a district 11 resident? Does the nominee have to be willing to be VP? If the answers to all of the above are no, I hereby nominate John Ashford. A Texas resident who always has a lot to say.

Ty Marcucci,

When visting the Pacific NW and wishing to committ voter fraud, it is my suggestion that you have your ballot postmarked in Oregon where this sort of thing is not only allowed but is encouraged.

Steve,

You decline? Without even giving this magnificent opportunity serious consideration? Phhhhhtttt.......

While I will likely be calling upon H. Rush to attend various PAMPA meetings for us, were we to get him as District 11 Dictator all he would write about is the latest from P. Walker. Oh wait, that's what I have been doing for years. Well, that must mean it's okay.

Nils,

Until or unless the ankle-biters can actually forward to my home office one of those petitions to get me kicked out of Stunt News, I get it signed, notarized and turned in to the proper authorities, I will continue the Bad Boy Stunt column.

Alan Hahn,

Not only will the dues go down there will be enough savings to make this retroactive to the first of this year. Hey, next year's PAMPA membership will only cost about 15 bucks!

Jim P,

The answers are all "yes." And thanks for the defense, although probably not necessary.

It might be worth noting that when I was assigned (no vote the first time around) to this position it was annoyingly common to not see anything at all in Stunt News when it came to District 11. I fixed that. Now the pendulum should probably swing back to a more moderate amount of space for my home district, although typically that decision is left to each individual director and has a great deal to do with how much news he is aware of, the time of the year, etc.

For what it's worth, I am dismayed that no one is begging me to stay on for one more term. C'mon, people, whine and moan about this exceedingly sad state of affairs, make Da Dirt feel good. And wanted. Loved, even.

What a black day for
district 11! Please Dan reconsider!
Even though there are those that consider you a moronic jerk, I for one have never completely agreed. In fact I thought it was real nice of you to allow enough room in SN for other upcoming writers a place to offer their views as I mentioned to you in public several years ago. I sincerly hope that you will stay on,even though every time you mention our kits the sales drop off 43%.
regards,
Joe;)

Dirt,

You gave us to believe that this simply wasn't an option. I figured you were moving out of the area to become Al Rabe's next door neighbor or something and so, would be inelligible to continue. If this isn't the case and you're just trying to weasel out of, ah, pass your responsibilities onto other, less illustrious souls, then by all means, please run again. We have to have someone to offset all those stern eyed, rules mongering, serious stunt flyer types.

Besides, what would we do if we didn't have you to loosen things up?

Pax Bothel!!! All hail Emperor Dirt!!!

Randy Powell

OK, that was a bit over the top. Maybe. A little.

You dont need to be a District 11 to nominate a candidate. I found this out at the 2001 Pampa general meeting. When it came time to nominate District 11 I raised my hand & was walked over by others .
( I was the only District member in the meeting)

Perhaps a Committee to Reelect the Dirt could be formed. We could get us some plumbers and infiltrate the Kabal. What's Liddy doing these days?

Ya know, I kinda thought Big Country Joe was pretty much out of the typing business, else I would not have said a thing toward eliciting "Please Dan, stay!" comments.

Joe, can you fly yet? I've got a pretty little Zilch X we can set you up with this weekend. As current, soon to be ex-, District Dictator I'll bet we can fudge the rules and get the motor started for ya. I'll even clean the model for you after each flight. No, wait! If I read a very recent e-mail right and my cards are played correctly we will ALL have Bob Smiley as slave of the weekend. He can lay out the lines, start the motor, clean all the stuff after each flight.

(Bob, call me at home; we have some serious negotiating to get on with.)

Dirt,

WAIT A MINUTE! It wasn't your plane. Lighten up. I have already cut a deal with the honorable Mr. Smiley. I think groveling is involved.

Dan, I can not fly as yet. The index finger on my right hand is still in a brace in an attempt to keep the tendons together. If I take off the brace the finger pulls toward the palm. Yesterday I tried to hold a handle...NOPE!

I can drive about 20 miles max before pain sets in, so driving to Albany is out.

Typing is a real chore with one hand normal and the other a hunt and peck with the third finger. Why am I reporting all this? To simply say that even with being very careful, accidents with running engines can really put a big damper in your life. BE VERY CAREFUL GUYS !!!
Dan, Thanks for the offer buddy! I wont forget it! Please reconsider your position as VP!

Dan, I simply can not dly yet. I have my right hand in a brace to keep the tendons on my right index finger from detaching. I can take off the brace for cleaning and PT but then the finger curls toward my palm. I tried yesterday to hold a handle, no luck.
I can only drive about 20m miles before the pain hits, so driving to Albanuy is out.
Even being real careful, freak accidents can happen around running engines, so guys, PLEASE USE EXTRA CAUTION!!!

Dan, thanks for the offer, I wont forget it!

I might nominate you whether you like it or not.

Well that's certainly good to hear. Stunt News with no Dirty Words in it at all just wouldn't be the same. Maybe since you won't be using up space in the Dist. 11 report you can double (or triple) the size of your Bad Boy Stunt column?
I must say I do truly love knowing in my heart that the aforementioned "ankle biters" (you know who you are) are scurrying about in the gloom trying unsuccessfully to shut you up. It makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside knowing that while we Dist. 11 cretins are chuckling they're having their little conniption fits somewhere.
Btw, I would beg you to stay on as Dist. 11 dictator & even speak words of love & crap but you dissolved our mutual admiration society without telling me first & I'm still a bit miffed.

Gee, I was active military 20 years ago - I could vote by federal absentee ballot after the election. I think this was actually done once before in a much more publicized venue.

The requested grovelling was totally insufficient. Nice try, but you guys really needed to put more effort into your pleadings.

No problem. While I didn't press him, Bruce Hunt has given a fair amount of thought to accepting my nomination of him as District 11 Dictator. And of his own free will has accepted!

Yes, of course we are open to more nominations. But for the moment I am exceedingly pleased that Bruce has decided to step forward.

Brett will just have to begin getting his "interesting" mail in plain brown wrappers.
