Pictures from Texas State Championships

Here are a few pics. Didn't have the camera very long, so couldn't catch everyone with their planes available and/or uncovered.

Thanks for the pics. The contest was a lot of fun, and well attended. There were 18 flyers on Sunday, and about 8 or 10 on Saturday in P-40 Stunt. Dee Rice let me fly his profile Vegas (aka Yellow Bird) in P-40. That was a blast. By the way, a nice flying plane with OS 40 LA power and an APC prop.

I've got the results for Expert Stunt, but had to get on the road back to Big D before the rest of the results were posted.

Third through sixth was a real battle, and a lot of fun. Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to John Hill and everyone in Houston for putting on a fine contest. Also, thanks to John Hill, Bill Rutherford, and Frank Williams for Judging.

Great pics. After seeing your GeeBee, I don't want to hear any more comments around here about MY high aspect planes.

Randy: I absolutely love flying the GeeBee. It is by far the best flying plane I have ever had. We built it just like the plans showed. No modifications or changes. I don't know what kind of results Chris and Alan are having with theirs, but I've got nothing but positive things to say about mine.

And, yes that is quite a high aspect ratio wing. It is also quite thin, especially at the tips. This seems to help it really slice through the air when it is bumpy.

Thanks to all who attended the Memorial Day contest in Houston. We really appreciate all of your support.

Steve's Gee Bee really flew well. Steve has really improved over the last year or so so everyone had better lookout.

OK....somebody please tell me about the GB! What plans are they? Are they available? What are some of the stats? Man I love those birds!

I hear ya! Wish I had been able to take more pics. Are you coming to Dallas in June?

Not sure about the contest, what is the date. Have to be out of state for at least one weekend, maybe two during the month. Trying to get a better engine on my plane Sunday was just too much excitement.

Weekend of the 14th and 15th of June.

I believe Alan Resinger has plans for the GeeBee. We used a set of 1/2 size plans we got from Chris Cox to build mine. Alan also has some parts available for the GB, such as a carbon fiber cowl, wheel pants and prop.

At Ultra Hobby Products we have rib sets and former sets available for purchase. We are considering doing a complete kit sometime in the future if there is enough interest, and if we can get permission from the Beringers.

Get permission and let me know. I don't often buy kits but this one I will make an exception!
