I bought an enya 29 model 5002 and is had some 4-40 bolts particily threaded into it and one hole with a supertiger? bolt. luckly the threads don't look cross threaded but was wondering what the orignal bolt size was so i can buy some corect bolts and tap to replace the incorect bolts. Also anyone have a head for one as i would like to test run the engine before making a new head.

Most jap engines at this time used m3*.6mm pitch bolts that are not stanrdard and as rare as hens proverbials.
I used 1/8 British Standard Whitworth which is closer than 4-40.

Not sure where you are located but if USA, try and locate some 5-40 unc Soc. Hd. screws. They are the same dia. as the BSW ( 0.125").

Dana, I've hunted all over for the .6 pitch screws and they aren't to be had. There was a long thread about this a year or so ago. The 5-40s work after a fashion, but aren't exactly right. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that they had had a good experience buying from MRC. I like Enyas. But I remain frustrated with the parts/accesories problem. I finally got a muffler for a .15 off eBay. Cost more than the (used) motor.
Have you contacted Enya? (Altech Marketing) They might have the parts you need.
I will try enya and if that doesn't work I'll put 5-40's in it. What is the closest (inch) pitch. there is a surplus store here that carrie weird screws like 4-48 and other sizes that I guess are common in the electronics and aircraft Ind. Interestingly there mostly stainless bolts they carrie.

3 mm is 0.118" dia.
#4-40 is 0.112" dia.
#5-40 is 0.125" dia.
I have put it on the site elsewhere but you may find this helpfull.
a # 0 unified thread is 0.060" dia. Each gauge number increases by 0.013". If you multiply 0.013 by the gauge number and add 0.060 you will get the diameter of your screw. You should get enough thread depth if you re-tap the 3mm holes to 5-40 or if you find a supply of 1/8" BSW screws use them. They are also 40 T.P.I. The thread angle is 55 deg rather than the 60 of the unified. Use a BSW tap if you get the 1/8" BSW screws as the mismatch could weaken the thread in the alloy.

ENYA set screws. They are usually 3.5 * 0.5 or 4.0 * 0.7 mm.

I have enya screw sets for that engine.
I can also dig up a head for it also.
Also have gaskets if you need any.

Sorry for the laaaaaate reply but the board moves so fast I lose track of the messages I post. My email is [email protected] . I would greatly appreciate the chance to buy a set of (8 Qty) screws for it. what wound you want for the head. I just want to run the engine once before making a hemi racing head for it to see if I need to make or work on any other parts for it. Are you going to any of the stunt contest in the Southern California area. may be I can borrow the head at the contest for an hour to see if the engine is in good condition. Dana
ps. Would a metric M3.0 dia 0.50 pitch be the same? Small Parts Inc. list taps for that size. They also list 4-48 and 5-44.
The M3 .6mm pitch screws have 42.33 threads per inch. Using a 5-40 instead works out fine. I have done this a few times in OS .29 Twinstacks. In fact, they hold slightly better than the M3, since you are creating a slight interference fit.
