I thought y'all might be interested in what Mr. Eifflaender has to say about the mounting configuration of the PAW engines. I had sent him an e-mail about this as I am starting to build a plane for a PAW .35. This is a pretty impressive engine...

Without doubt the side mounted engine configuration works better than an inverted/upright one. However care must be taken with the construction to ensure that the model is not prone to vibration. Plywood doublers at the front are a must as is additional strengthning around the tail plane mount. This is to take into account that you have turned the engines inertia through ninety degrees. In plain english the dog is wagging its tail from side to side with a side mounted engine, not up and down as with an inverted set up
