Crumby weather, but what a battle in Expert! Advanced was a good one, but Expert was really worth watching. During Advanced, (which I believe Randy Powell won with his new high aspect ratio bird in the photos post below) one of the judges let it be known that he'd consent to test fly Bruce Hunt's newish Shark 45...an offer which Bruce rightly jumped on. To see Paul Walker flying your model has to be a thrill. While I admit to not being an Advanced/Expert class judge, I think Paul's flight would have perhaps been good enough to win Expert, with a model he'd never flown and "went for it" right after a conservative reverse wingover. The man never fails to amaze me. Sadly, the B-17 did not fly, weather just too miserable. Still, a great contest, tho we missed many who had other commitments or were scared off by the weather forcast. Danny Dirt was there both days, hobbling around on his crutches and entertaining the troops. I had a good time helping Howard with the score sheets and keeping the canopy from flying away. The rain got very serious as we loaded up the equipment, and the drive home was miserable, but hope everyone made it safely and without much excitement.
