Editing Posts

I realize there is a limit on the time you can
edit a post, which is probably a good idea on
the main forum. But I think the
feature should be disabled for classifieds.
I wanted to update an item I posted there
as sold, but couldn't do it.

I can always add a post that it was sold, but that would bump
the item back to the top, which I feel would be pointless
for a sold item.

Also, I accidently posted this in the classifieds.
Can that be deleted?

I deleted it. Unfortuantely the time limit for editing is all or nothing. In other words it applies to none or all forums. I originally set this up with no time limits and couldn't even see the need for time limits. Then two idiots (two!) on different occasions got angry because people didn't agree with them and decided to deprive the entire world of their accumulative wisdom and erased everything they had previously placed on the forum including the beginnings of posts where they asked questions. This totally tore up those posts and made them something that just didn't make sense. (Why is that person saying that? Noboday said anything about...) After this happened for a second time, I said, "enough" and placed a 50 hour time limit for editing. That way people cannot remove their posts after tha t period of time. I can still edit and delete, however, and if you wish to place a message beneath that something is sold we can so note.
