If I'm reading this right you are asking about putting two wheel main gear on a Ukey? If so, I think the single wheel setup Joe includes with the kit is best. I put hundreds & hundreds (& hundreds) of flights on Ukeys with the single wheel when I was learning the pattern & I can assure you that it works just fine on grass or on pavement. On pavement you might want to put a piece of strapping tape on the bottom of the wing tips.
If you are looking to improve performance your going the wrong direction. Ukeys with two wheels are only an improvement for about one second, & then only if you're flying from a stooge. If you have someone launching for you you'll never notice the difference between one wheel & two. If you're launching from a stooge you will only notice a difference from the time you pull the release until the airplane starts to move. As soon as it moves it will level itself. One the other hand, for the entire rest of the flight you're going to be have the added weight & drag of that extra (as in unnecessary) gear leg & wheel. On an airplane this size it is really noticeable.
On the other hand, If you want to add dual gear for appearance sake, IMO if you put a bikini on a pig, well, you still got a pig....
They do fly very well though

I scratch build all my .35 stunt planes, and when it comes to the landing gear, I guy a piece of aluminum from the hardware store 1/8" x 34" x 36". I cut (2) pieces 9" long and bend them in a vise, with the help of a round file so as not to snap or cause fatigue in the meal)to an exact shape. You get (2) sets of gear from this.

Holes are drilled for the wheels and for mounting to the sides of the doublers on the fuselage. I have a diagram, full size, that I use as a template. I would be glad to send it to you. Contact me at my
