EZ Fuel Tank

I built a Frank Ehling EZ some while back, 38in span with 7in chord. I put the fuel tank in the wing, as shown on the plan and used a Frog 349 rear induction diesel which gave 2in between the front of the uniflow tank and the NVA. This set up proved a little underpowered so I decided to change to an FP25. Trouble is the distance from the front of the tank to the NVA is now 5in. The question is, will this work or should I abandon the wing mounted tank and mount one between the wing LE and the back of the engine? If this is the best solution what would be a suitable tank to fit in the 2.1 in space between the wing and the engine? Anyone got any suggestions?

First time I flew this ship I picked the handle up upside down and found that it makes a great teathered car! The elevator does not have enough power to tip it over the forward mounted UC.

Interesting! That's the same size Easy I flew for many years with a TD 09. I did use a tank in front of the wing (with noseweight burried under it), behind the engine. You might try setting up either an inboard tank as such, or an inboard tank feeding a small chickenhopper tank behind the engine. Even with crankcase pressure, the tank in the wing is pretty far back.
