A quick Thank You.

I just wanted to say 'Thank You' to all who expressed condolences to Doug and I about our grandfather's death while we were at the NATS. Doug and I both received sympathy cards in the mail yesterday. A very nice gesture indeed. Thanks to everyone who signed the cards.

Our granddad was a WWII vet who stormed the beaches with the Marines at Tinian, Saipan, and Guam. He was also stationed in Japan after the war for about 6 to 8 weeks. He was buried with a US flag draping the coffin that was folded properly and presented to my mother and aunt during the service.

Steve, your granddad is one of my heros. You and Doug are blessed to be members of his family, and the rest of us are lucky to have him and people like him in our history. You have all our condolences.

Condolences. I'm an old guy I guess. It's my father that was a WWII vet. He was a Navy pilot (at least some of the time) in the South Pacific and served from 1939 to 1947. Sorry to hear of your loss.

I'd like to send my condolences to you and your family for the loss of you Grand Father. It's men like your grand father that gave their all in service to our country so we can be free today. I have the greatest respect and admiration for what they have done for us. I have been to Tinian and Saipan and lived for 2 1/2 years on Guam. Unless one has been there, even 50 years after the war, you have no idea how treacherous the terrain on these islands can be especially at the beaches. Anyway, again my heart fealt condolences for your loss.
