Who wants to be the second in their neighborhood to have one?

Actually, there has always been stuff made for "foreign" markets that never has seen the light of day "over here" There are a bunch of Tigres that are nearly unknown in the USA, save a few examples brought in by returning servicemen or tourists.
The ".11" size is pretty popular in the Far East, and ST once made an .11 for the world market. It's likely really nothing new at all, just that we have now stumbled across it. I still treasure my old Enya .15 Mk 2 diesel from around 1962 or so. The little .06 size is a joy to have if you can find one.

Looks neat. Don't need another small diesel though. I finally dug out a Mk 17 .09 that has been gathering dust for a few years and got re-aquainted with some of the operating techniques for running a diesel. The aroma definitely hangs on for a good bit if you get any on you. After one under compressed flight things worked out pretty well.

Actually Altech has been importing the C/L versions of the 09/15/40/50 for some time. I've picked up a 40 and a 50 so Jim am I the first or the second to buy one.Really doesn't matter though as it seems that I am an inveterate collector of almost everything.
They are extremely well made better fitted then the OS, don't require the break in that the older Enyas required and are really smooth economical runners.
Downside is that they are still too wide and very slightly heavier then an OS but in lew of all the moving around of firewalls and such to accomodate a 4 cycle this is not really a problem.
Point is whether you like them or not at least there is another source of motors available, however, it remains in Altech's corner to activly promote their product and really make it available to the modelling public.
And yes I'd like to have that 11 / diesel think that any of the older Enya diesels are going cheaply on the bay. What will this one do in a few years. Heck I have to figure out some way to make retirement profitable. Dennis

IF you can find one, a Mk 1 or 2 .15 will run you well beyond what a $100 FRN will cover.

Has anyone had good luck with an ABC diesel? The only ABC diesel I have is a replica Elfin 1.5 and it doesn't work. When it starts warming up the contra looses compression and it quits. A simple "O" ring seal would have fixed the problem but so far I have not bothered to alter it.

Re: the Mk 17 diesel. I have several of these (from Carlson) and they are excellent engines.

I am one of the minority (apparently) that likes Enya engines. The older ones require a long break-in but they run, and run, and run...

I have had great success with .15 ABC and AAC diesel engines made by Henry Nelson. He makes a front and rear valve version with side or rear exhast. They come with a low timed or high timed exhast and are excellent engines.

The Irvine 20/40 ABC diesels were truly wonderful runners. I had several of them and still have one or 2 of them NIB. One 40 had well over 500 flights on one plane without ever turning the tommy bar or the needle valve, obviously I used a starter. These are true ABC motors. I had our host make up a venturi for one but I just can't figure out what plane would do it justice.
Jake, I have both the Enya 15 diesels plus the 06D both versions the 08 and the 10
Still have the OS15D nib, saw one of them go on the bay for over $700.

I don't know if you've seen the MRC/Altech website lately but you can order the engines directly if your having trouble finding a supplying hobby shop.

http://www.modelrec.com/products/rcModelEngines/controlLine.asp

I recently bought an SS25S. Got it in a few days and they even provide package tracking. I've currently got it slated to go on a Brodak Super Clown I recently picked up.

I'm also going to order the C/L parts to convert an Enya SS40 plain bearing R/C engine I've had laying around.

Do those Enya engines have a baffle or are they schnurle ported?

The .25 I picked up is Schnurle ported but its a lapped piston/Steel cylinder set-up, not an ABC. Should last a long time. I think the .15 and .40 are the same with the .50 having a ringed piston.

From looking up the link above it appears that the .25 RC is BB and the .25 CL is bushed. There may be other differences, the description on the CL version is very scant.
"I never met an Enya I didn't like."
