Hope someone can help here;

I'm trying to lay my hands on some plans for Joseph Gabris Supermaster (Czech World Champ 1966). Original used a MVVS 35. I built one nearly 30yrs ago from Aeromodeller plans but have no idea where to get plans these days. The old ones are long gone....Anyone in the UK/US/Aus know where to get them??

Thanks for your help

Greasy Pete

Tom Dixon has them in his listing. The article was published in Aeromodeller, Dec 66. The Aeromodeller plan number is CL930. The Aeromodeller drawings are available from the Nexus Plans Service in Hertfordshire in England and might be available from Tom Holman Plans in San Bernardino, CA.

Thanks Keith; I just found it where you said it was; my google search I used Supermaster as one word; its listed correctly on Toms service as 2 words.

Cheers

Peter

I have an original Aeromodeller with the build article in it;>>I'm trying to lay my hands on some plans for Joseph Gabris

Peter,

Jozef Gabris was my good friend. He origin from the same town (Bratislava - Slovakia). So the Supermaster was very popular those days and I thin every flyer here tried it.

The Supermaster plans 1:1 are available here, but shipping oversea will be probably expensive. But if everything in USA fails, write me I will send you a copy.

Igor,
I would like very much to have a copy of the Super master plans - are they the original or the Aeromodeller plans? This design was very popular in Australia and won many contests here in the 60's and 70's
Josef was indeed the master!
Cheers Dave

Sorry Dave,

I did not see that Aeromodeller plan. We did not have chance to get "western" newsletters those days. ... May be if you can scan that page I can look if it is the same drawing. Or is it full scale plan?

Igor;

Thanks very much; looks like there are a couple of ways to get the plans after all. I read in the Aeromodeller Super Master article that the aeromodeller plans were a direct reprint from the Czech modelling magazine; as you say 1:1.

I've been thinking about a model for Classic and my spare Magnum 36 and I think this will be the one!

As an aside, but related issue, it would be really interesting to hear how stunt developed and was encouraged back in the 60's before the (relatively) recent political changes, the whole 'Cold War' thing. How were team members selected, supported, availability of materials & motors, how has it changed since. Since I grew up surrounded by cold war retoric I always wondered how it really was. I think it would make really educational reading! Anyway, I dont mean to intrude; I've just always been really curious.

Kind Regards

Peter

The next version of the forum will have a forum for people experiencing problems. You are probably operating through a firewall or may not have cookies enabled. Send me an e-mail with your user name of choice (and password if you have one you would like to use) and I will set you up.

Leonard;

I was working from my DSL account, so no firewall that I know of;
I'll email separately to fix my account issue; 99% probability its pilot error!

Kind Regards

The original Aeromodeller plan should be available from X-List Plans, here:
http://www.xlistplans.demon.co.uk
It's not listed on their site, but I know they have it.

Vernon; Thanks very much; link worked great. Good to see so many stunt designs I've never seen before on this site; and so many Maikis designs!

Any info on the BIG biplane Claus designed (Duetto); good flyer? Looks like a terrific project.

Duetto is on the xlist plans site:

http://www.xlistplans.demon.co.uk

CLick on the ADOBE PDF icon on the home page as this opens the complete X-List

Duetto is the 12th plan down in the leftmost column on the first page.

If you have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Aeromodeller plans, the Xlist is a veritable treasure trove!
