Stuka Stunt in PA

Had a great time in Western PA.
The Michigan guys cleaned up. A total of 6 trophies going to the three of us.

I did okay pulling a 2nd in Expert OTS and 3rd in Advanced Profile. Jay did the best with 1sts in Beginner OTS and Beginner Profle but Jim takes the cake with a 1st in Intermediate Profile, 2nd in Intermediate OTS and Pilot's Choice with his Europa. In the picture I am holding 7 plaques (Rich Malik placed 3rd in Beginner Profile) and Jim's Pilot's Choice Trophy. Great contest, great time.

Are you sure these are html files? Shouldn't they be jpgs? Clicking on them doesn't open a picture.

I have opened this web page using both Netscape and MS Internet Explorer. Netscape can not (or will not) convert the html file to something that can be read. MSIE does. So, to view the pictures, you will probably have to use MSIE.

So Microsoft's wonderful IE autonomously converts JPG files with an HTML extension? I can see the "source" and it doesn't look like HTML. That's quite a feature!

(Now I can see a whole bunch of beautiful pictures, all JPGs..)

No it didn't convert the pics.... I spent about 45 minutes reposting them. Seems that the program for posting pics automatically chooses HTML.

It does. Leonard and I have tried to fix that with the author, but to this point no avail.

As for getting the jpegs uploaded, you did good. My thanks for taking the time to repost.

I took the liberty of deleting off the server the .html files that were originally uploaded, as they don't seem to be needed any more. Freed up a little space, and we all know what happens when we run out of space...

I thought I was doing something wrong when I couldn't see the pics. Thatnks for the tip I think I got it right now.

Elwyn, That was made by Bob Crusan, "That 1/2 A Guy" for Gary Tultz. Its an inside joke evidentally. I'll call Bob and get the details for you ASAP!

Elwyn, Several years ago at one of our UC Fly Ins, Bob Crusan was remarking that he'd surly like to build a VENUSIAN Saucer as shown way back when in Air Trails / Boys Life or Adventure Mag. Gary Tultz told him that he,Gary, had that magazine in his collection. Gary copied the plans at their full size and mailed them to Bob. Bob built the thing, flew it, and thought that it would be really neat to present it to Gary at the end of our day! He did and it just about blew Gary away! Gary now says that it will reside in a place of honor with his most treaured trophies at home! That's the "Rest Of the Story"

One of the lower photos shows Gary Tultz with his OTS Expert plack & his winning saucer plane. Olson .61 powered. He flew it well. Scored a 315. Mackey design or maybe Palmer. He, He, He.

We will have to get the info. from Bob Crusan the builder. Cox 049 reed engine. He did say Tultz gave him the plans & that it flew poorly down low & not to bad up high. Bob gave the plane to Gary at the contest. Gary was very happy with his new plane.

Just doing a test to see if my code hack changed the radio button default.

So, while we are still using this version of the software, the default for uploaded files will be .jpeg rather than .html. I should have done this months ago.

Tell me how to add captions and I will forgive you. Ha took most of my morning changing them over. No biggie.

Hi there stranger! Well we have had one of the wettest springs and early to mid=summers ever! Yes there is /are woodchucks, pheasant, deer,fox wild turkey, racoons, an occasional coydog, woodpeckers and soy beans and corn to boot! Too bad we didn't do this when you lived closer! Incidentally no one came over from Columbus but others drove from Hershey, Palmyra, Detroit, Cleveland, Kent, Mechanicsburg PA, and the mid-MI peninsula. Last evening and afternoon we experienced a grade1.4 Tornado in parts of our area(Youngstown, OH) and in the evening the rain totaled close to 5" a new record for Hermitage, PA. My cellar and its rug are now soaked! Phil Spillman

Great looking planes, but the best part is the younger looking group of flyers. Nice to see more middle aged flyers than olde fahrts like me. The site reminds me of the Huntersville, NC site. Nice and green.

Ty There really were a few of us Old Tarts there most of us were off taking our naps! No not really at 65 i was off judging and just couldn't make the shoot! At any rate its only been a few years since I retired from playing ice hockey at a competitive level. Its amazing how young you can get after stopping the smooking thing!

Let's get the names of these guys. I am just to the right of that guy with the yellow hat & shirt.

Captain, you got it right. The younger Erbs name is Nick and is an up and comming talent (look out you advanced guys).Notice that a good proportion of those pictured(not me) are a long way from seeing that first AARP card in the mail. I thought Paul would of tied the knot by now. I told him the reasin his girl didn't marry him yet is bucause he spent more on that Plane with a PA 61 than he spent on her ring. LOL Only kidding Paul. Looking forward to seeing you guys at FCM then Cleveland.
