Fugi 25S

I got one of the above engines in a lot purchase I made about 2 years ago. I have it freed up, cleaned up and running. It runs good on the test stand. Is anyone familiar with these engines? If so how do they compare to some of the other older 25 Schnaurle engines such as OS 25 FP. etc. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks,

The only similarly named engine I know anything about was a series of questionable quality OS Max engine copies made in Japan, spelled "Fuji" not Fugi. The Fuji 15 that I had wasn't worth much, and I didn't keep it.

Never did own a Fuji, but I remember Hobby Shack was selling them in the early 80s. I wanted Combat engines, and they didn't measure up.

The name's been resurrected, incidentally. The new Fujis are large displacement gasoline spark ignition things for large RC.

Did Fuji ever really go out of business? They have been around a long time.
They never gained the popularity of OS and Enya, but I remember occasionally seeing a few when guys would bring them back from overseas bases as early as the late 50's.
I've never owned one.

Hello Kiwi,

You're right, it should be Fuji. This engine has a front crankcase housing and no backplate. It also has high fins on the head like the Enyas.It looks more like an Enya clone than an OS clone. I guess I'll just put it on something somwtime and see how it flies. Thanks to everyone for your posts.

Seems I remember seeing Fuji engines for sale on the MECOA site. They seemed to be higher priced than the other engines though. They did look pretty good on the outside, perhaps they've improved their operation. Perhaps not. I'll never know as I currently have most of the engines I need for stunt.

I'm wondering why everything is spinning around?

I had 2 15's and they both were garbage one just quit while running on the test stand never to start again. On the the other hand I have a Fuji .19 that's a little power house I'm very happy with this engine so I guess if you got your .25 running you should have a great little engine.
