#0 sourceIn the weeks leading up to this event, I was getting all giddy with excitement. I was imagining how much fun it would be. It turned out to be 10 times more fun than I imagined!!! I still don't know who wasn't wearing any underware! I've got a chance to hang out with some of the most fascinating characters around. The following are the pictures of some of them. I REALLY hope others can fill in of who's who:
Here are our grand marshals of the procession or contest CD's: Bill Hummel and Guerry Buyers. Bill was making a quick buck selling toilet paper to the only port-a-potty around. As a result, the raffle had a $180 jackpot:

Dave Cook and Earl 'Woody' Midgley discussing finer points of judging or making fun of the ARF's. I think it's the latter:

This gentelman from New York(sorry I missed your name) flew really good patterns... for a New Yorker 
. But seriously, it was a pleasure to watch him fly:

Rick Clark: the guy who's always ready to help out others. Thanks to him, Beginner Stunt had a real 'battle' going on between Alex Clark and Ed Buyers. Thanks to him, Ed was able to do ENTIRE flight including the landing:

Speaking of the battle, Alex and Ed had just few points separating them at the end. Both kids were very serious and intense. Here's Ed concentrating before the flight. He was a little concerned onsunday since his grandpa stuffed Ed's Ringmaster the day before:

When we forced the issue, grandpa cracked under pressure and wowed to fix it. Here's grandpa cracking under pressure(Guerry Buyers):

The Ringmaster was repaired overnight and flew pretty well the next day

Intermediate stunt was a large group with 6 contestants. I was one of the clowns there. We were stuck on the far side of the field where the grass was the deepest. Funny enough, average intermediate score after the first round was higher than the Advanced. Unfortunately I took only one picture of the intermediate contestants. This gentelman, who everyone called 'Sleepy', brought a real nice Cardinal but was having problems with his Super Tigre 46. Nevertheless, he putt up a good flight:

Saturday night, a bunch of us went to a local joint for some food and good company. While there, I noticed Bill Hummel and Noel Drindak quietly discussing their next series of PAMPA Stunt News articles. These guys are unstoppable! By the way, Cardinal came out real nice and was raffled as well. Unfortunately, I didn't win it

Growing up in the 80's, behind the 'Iron Curtain', Windy was one of the few names that trickled into Soviet Union stunt scene. To a little kid in Minsk, Windy and Les were stunt idols. I got to talk and watch one of them fly! Now, if only someone could find Les McDonald and make him start flying again!
