MP-Jet front end leaks

I was flying Tim Meek's Leprechaun P-51, and it is powered by an MP-Jet .061. Lots 'o oomph to drive the plane. BUT! it blows a steady, very visible bunch of fuel out behind the drive washer.

I have had this trouble with MP-Jets before, has anyone else?

Second point, and my question, has anyone had success with the supposed fix of grinding a spiral groove into the shaft to pump the fuel back to the case.

And, if so, how is the spiral oriented (I think I have it figured out as a standard RH screw thread, but I want to be sure!)

Larry, does your engine have bearings or does it use a bushed shaft? I have the MP Jet 061 deisel with ball bearings and I do not have the problems you have with yours.

Both of my MP-Jet .061 diesels do not leak either...

This one is the ball-bearing version. I actually returned two to Carlson a few years ago for this reason!

I think I have a non-leaker in my engine stash, but want to fix the problem if possible. I also have the BB diesel, and will try that eventually.
