I recieved an e-mail saying that CNN is reporting that Tower Hobbies is going "chapter 11". I checked the CNN website, and there is nothing there.

Don't know who the joker is, but it ain't funny.

Now Fry's electronics would be funny!

I doubt that Tower going into bankruptcy, even if true, be sufficiently newsworthy to get on CNN.

Wanna bet. Cnn will report anything even if it's not true.

I looked on several hoax sites, and didn't find it, but it would take some time to turn up, if a hoax. I don't think I would mention it, myself, let alone post it on the 'net. Now, CNN is another story.... check out this bit of CNN accuracy. The government must be keeping secrets, 'cause I thought "warp 18" was impossible even on Star Trek. Steve

Good one! They obviously meant "speed of sound." I've always been under the impression that "warp" speed wasn't related to the speed of light - wasn't it more of a temporal thing?

I saw this table once, explaining warp speeds. Apparently it's changed over the years. In the latest series, it's either a geometrcial scale or an exponential scale, can't remember which. E.g. Warp 2 is 4C, Warp 3 is 8C, Warp 4 16C.

Warps will ruin a good wing. At 5.2 per lap, that's 1/100,000,000,000 warp one.

The Tower Hobby article was definitely a hoax, appeared on the 'heavyplasma.com' site which has fake CNN articles. I just checked there and the site is now empty - I'm sure CNN (& their lawyers) had something to do with that...
