FCM--Another Excellent Event

Thanks to Allen Goff, Will Hinton, and all involved in producing another outstanding FCM event. While the weather was not cooperative on Saturday afternoon, Sunday was stunt heaven. Light steady winds all day and moderate temperature.

Good show!

One of the highlights of the event actually happened late Sunday after the Awards--a fly over by a Stealth Bomber making an appearance at the Muncie Heat airshow event. Everyone was in awe of this thing--one person remarked: "That plane is as big as a mall!". I'm glad its one of ours....

I'm sure Allen and Co. will post some info and picts soon.

Aw, Curt, now you spoiled it. I thought they had staged its appearance for the awards ceremony.

Well they coudn't have timed it better.

Sorry Andrew...ex Hughes GM....I get carried away with TLA's

I too had a great time. Broght my friend to his first contest and he was amazed. In case you didn't see us we were the guys talking up a storm with saying a sound. The door prises were great. Looking forward to getting the All American from Walter. The turnout was smaller than last year, but the flying was good. Anyone know what OTS posted? I was hoping to do better this time around.

Actually, we had more pilots this year. Last year we had 54, this year 70.Pics on the way.
Tom Dixon won Old Time: Joe Reinhard won Classic: Jr:Jesse Reyes: Beginner:Dan Grotzinger.Intermedate:Scott Reynolds. Advance: Mike McHenry. Expert: Matthew Neumann, followed closely by John Sunderlund and yours truly.

It truly was a great event. Of some note was the fact that while Intermediate entrys decreased, the Advanced ranks were larger than any other category this year. Proof in my opinion that the class system is working and many folks who were beginners a few years ago are now quite good and moving up!

Thanks again to Allen and Will but most especially Allen and his wife Jan and their daughters who all work so hard to make this event go so
well. Especially Allen, who manages to run the event, judge and fly also. Makes for a very busy weekend and it is much appreciated by the participants.

Allen Goff wanted to post some pictures of the FCM but was unable to due to problems with file size etc. Anyway I said I would help.
