I am with Dan on this one. Unregistered user who owns the land he is flying on. Tresspasser drives his truck onto said land and has a collision with plane. He wants to know your name and you don't want to know his? You will hit a man in the face and possible even kill him because you don't want to tell him your name (as owner of the land upon which he is tresspassing) and then you post this on the internet as a "true confession."

Hmm. Fish tale. Maybe we should move this to the humor section.

I found this entire thread VASTLY funny!
Trespass laws vary from State to State, but here in Texas (they have been toughened recently) if you are on your own property, and some clown were to really drive onto your land (without your written permission) and pull a stunt like this, his next-of kin would have a selected funeral home picking him up from the morgue within hours.

Did Rick go back and get his plane?
Did he grab the guy's wallet and take his money?
Did Rick tell a lie to his mother when she questioned him about
his aloof behavior and bruises on his neck? And he replied "No ma nothing's wrong!"

...and one really wimpy 12 inch crecent application. I've known many bikers over the years that carried 12" crecent wrenches because they fit the rear axle nut on a Harley. In fact I have one in my tool bag. Some of the guys I know carry 'em in little velcro holsters on their belts, "in case the axle nut comes loose all sudden like & I need to get to a wrench fast". If anybody asks. Unless this guys wrists are as weak as his writing- Nobody needs more than one vigorous 12" crecent-cranial application to lose interest in whatever they're doing. Not even a maniac Dodge driver. Trust me on this one folks.

Them HDs DO vibrate a tad. One of the electricians (biker) I know on a job site I am working said back a few months ago he and some of his bros were heading back to Houston after a charity ride to Galveston. They had to stop for gas about 20 miles out from town, and when he tried to put his sidestand down- it wasn't there anymore. It came loose and dropped off somewhere in the 40 miles back. He said "I knew I was BLEEPED up at the time, but at least I knew where my kickstand was (usually)!"- he had to lean the bike against the pump to put gas in the fatbob tanks.
You get belted in the skull or across the teeth with a 12" crescent wrench or a motorcycle helmet (trust me, these HURT too) you're not going anywhere but on the ground.

WOW same thing happened to me except it was a 18 wheeler.I was flying at the Tampa Bay Line Flyers site and this 18 wheeler comes rolling in and it ticked me off so I hit the truck and it blew up!Well it was the trucker's parking place during the week so what did I care on a week end. The real story is I did wingovers for a couple of minutes and the guys from the club got him to back up untill I ran out of fuel.He was a nice guy who waited till we showed him where to park on the weekends. He didn't even hear the plane or see it and wondered why I was standering there turning round and round.

Nevermind on the first portion.

There are some just plain mean, and/or dumb people out there.

Still, the above report of this happening at a flyig field, private property to boot, does sound a bit far fetched, so we can't help but be a bit wary of the tale.

I'm wondering why everything is spinning around?

The part that bothered me, oddly enough, was the 12" crescent wrench.

You really don't need that big a wrench for CL use.

But that made a convenient weapon for the story.

Currell,

To make certain that my props don't come off easily, I always use a 12" wrench to put that last bit of torque on the prop nut. The only real problem I have using that wrench is fitting it into the flight box.

Yeah...no wonder you are cracking all of your props at the hub.

And you need the wrench for the odd polar bear that's into Super Chipmunks, presumably....Currell

OK, I concede your point, but it was created to make a decent weapon.

Of course, one could simply squirt fuel in the guy's face. Or use the APC's as weapons. The airlines certainly could view them that way. And, every time we finger prop them, they are weapons we use vs. ourselves.

Yeah, the guy is sitting back and enjoying all of the comments. What we essentially did was reinforce and otherwise reward his behavior.

We may see more.

I guess I'm in deep doodoo. The "crescent" wrench in my flight box is only 4 inches. My typical tool size. I do keep a pen in my back pocket. It leaks ink and that tells me which trousers to wear for flying so I don't get castor in my good clothes. If I owned any property, it would be fenced off and posted. Also, if I told some nut my name, I would then ask him to repeat it and then spell it. That would cause untold confusion and I'd run like hell. Ricky Martin, how are yah, my name is Jose Jimeneze.

You give your age away (as do I) with your Jose allusion. I do miss Don Knotts, Mr Poston, Mr Nye, Jose, and the rest of Steve Allen's merry Sunday night bunch.

Just make sure to lean over everyone else's planes to get a good look. Don't bother clipping the pencil to your shirt pocket - just try to see if you can get it to go through one of the wing bays cleanly.

What really ticks me off was I thought we were supposed to be registered to post on this here board. Did that not go through?

What a maroon. Now the airlines are going to have to make sure nobody has a writing utensil on them OR a 12 inch crescent WHICH along with Kiwi I use on my airplanes. 8 inchers don't fit the Higley nut.

I left this up so people could get a bit of a chuckle out of stupidity, but will shortly take it down and throw it in the trash bin.

As to your question, Bill, I have been waiting for a promised update on the new software that is sitting on this server ready to go into action, and the update (promised several months ago) keeps being updated. I had intended to go to requiring registration with the introduction of the new software. I wrote the author again, saying, "Let's go", but, in the meantime, I think next week would be a good time to start. And I guess we will start with this board.
