Sorry for the outage.

The outage on the forum was due to an upgrade on the interface of the server, itself, and was not related in any way to the forum or our software or any user. And it also was not virus related, nor was it related to any Microsoft software (just thought I would add the latter.) It was totally out of our control as it was server related and I only rent space on the server.

The upgrades to the new software, by the way, are now promised for tis week, and when we make that switch over it should only take an hour or two. I expect it will still be next week, however, before we are ready. (That software, by the way, was not affected by the lengthy outage as it was cgi related.)

Leonard is being nice here. The site provider attempted to update the SQL database (which the new board will run off of) as well as the remote user software - and tanked the system. I don't know how they did it, but we did not have connectivity back until late yesterday morning. The site provider did do the smart thing and backed the server up prior to attempting the upgrade.

When the system was restored, the provider changed some components of the virtual domain configuration. We had to reverse engineer from the error files where to go to find the messagebase, cgi-bin files, etc. Once we figured out the changes, it was just a matter of modifying the config file for the board.

Sometimes, things just happen.

Just glad to see you back. The Dr. says I should be OK in a week or two and there will be no long term affects from the outage.

Got to go take my meds now.

Ha!!! I'll bet Leonard got a whole bunch of mail messages telling him the BBS was down, too.. Guess how I know.
