Sorry I am so late in answering your question, Jim, but I have been a little "busy" the last couple of weeks. (Nurses won't let you sleep a wink, and you get awful grouchy when they come to put another IV into you.)
As to the 35 FP, there is no direct clone out there from anyone else. However, there are several direct clones of the 40 FP. The one I like the best is the Tower .40 which is part for part compatible with the .40 FP. You can drop the piston/liner, rod, shaft, etc. from one engine into the other. The one exception is that the Tower uses a .010 head gasket compared to the FP using a .016. Tower then shaves the head slightly to compensate and keep the same compression. But the Tower .40 has a true chrome sleeve, a fully machined crankshaft (Like the earlier FP engines before they went on their cost cutting binge), and--if you ever need parts you can call Tower and they will ship them out with no charge for postage. And even the parts are cheaper than the FP.
And, yes, you can use the Tower case and shaft on the 35 FP. Only the piston/sleeve and head are different.
