It was worth it though, to watch Windy Urtnowski fly his Typhoon with a Saito 90 4-cycle and infrared throttle control. To watch Paul Walker do the stunt pattern with the B-17, after he and Howard Fast had gone through their incredible preflight and engine start procedures. The beast is about the coolest thing flying on lines; if you haven't seen it (and heard it), try to.
One last amazing thing...Iskandar Taib. He builds these godawful combat foamies and then underpowers them. Ugly but slow, got it? He flies them against the world's finest Fast Combat planes, with Nelsons and the (so far) only two existing Fora 36's. He runs maybe 80 or 90 mph...downhill...one stated he couldn't be doing over 60. THEY run ~120. Four rounds are flown today, and four of THEM manage to get in front of Taib. As of tonight, Taib has four
kills and no losses. Taib is also one of the coolest things flying on lines.
