McCoy 36 ???

I've got two 36 McCoys with different blackplates. I've attached pics and circled the difference. Does anyone know if this is just cosmetic or was for running? I don't want to damage gaskets just to check it out yet. I'm not sure I can see it anyway. Any comments?

It looks like a casting flaw that got missed in production. I doubt it affects anything other than the appearence- with the tank on, it wouldn't be visible anyway.

I agree with John on this one, just a casting flaw.

Bill I have 2 29 super sports like your 2 36"s. One has the same the other is plain. When looking inside of both engines there is no internal reason for the bump.Probably just a casting flaw or a different type mold. Tom

Thanks guys. It's looks like McCoy may have had one mold that had it and one that didn't. I know the 29s and 36s share the same case.

Are you flying these days? I got "displaced" with the sale of a division and now have some time to fly between job hunts.
