Spoke to Bob Hunt a couple of day ago and he is deeply concerned about his friend Bill Simmons.

Bill is going through a state of depression that, according to Bob, is killing him.

THIS IS NO PROSELITYZING!

All I ask is that all folks that are SSF "habitués" and that believe in the power of prayer inercede for him.

As Ol' James wrote, the prayers of a just man can accomplish a lot in their eficacy.

Bill Simmons,BTW, is no stranger to the CL community, I am sure.

Thanks a 1,000,000 and

God bless you all!

In Christ,

Ion

I first met Bill Simons at the '61 Nats. He was flying a Falcon! Bill is one of those great individuals that many of us are honored to been touched by and call him a friend. Our prayers are out for him.

Ion,

Do you know if Bill has an email address? I, for one, would like to let him know how much I enjoyed his articles on stunters and especially the one (P-39)I built from FM plans. I haven't yet gotten around to the Shoestring, but it's still on the list.

Thanks.

The PAMPA directory up to 2002 has him at : Bill Simons, 499 Rome Ave NE, Palm Bay, Fl, 32907-2368. I doubt if this has changed.

I built the Shoestring last winter. Good flying plane. I have plans for for Bill's "Scorpio" and plan to build it or a modified version of it some day.

Hope Bill is well. I've admired his stuff for a very long time.

I sent a get well card to his relatives when Bill was in the hospital. I grew up watching Bill fly at Flushing Meadows, New York. Bill was the first person in my recollection to call Control Line Stunt "The Gentleman's Event". I sincerely hope he recovers.

I am very glad to report that Bill is coming out of his hole. I saw him and Tooty his wife last weekend and his speech, demeanor and interest is greatly improved. I enjoyed this visit with him for the first time in months. Bill would be glad to receive fone calls from people he knows and more than glad to get cards or letters from well meaning people whether he knows you or not. I am making a copy of this thread to show him and I know he will be pleased. Thanks to on for his interest and Sourdough, write him . By all means if you know him call him at 321 723 7986 and say hi! Bill is a great guy.

John,
That is great news. We must all let Bill know that the Stunt fraternity has not forgotten him.

This is what I love about PAMPA and STUNT! (The love we have for each other.)

I remember receiving a phone call from a PAMPA friend in Australia when I was in the hospital. I can't tell you how much that meant to me.

God bless Bill. Give him a call.
