Bruce, What IS that AVATAR? It looks like someone with a bracelet tickling a hippo. Please blow it up and post it like the "Taped Duck" a couple months ago.

Looks to me like Charles Schultz's "Snoopy" with a handle in it's paw. I wonder if Heavy is inferring that (a) all C/L fliers are dogs?; (b) the particular model is a dog to fly?; or (c) he himself is a dog?

Man if that's Snoopy Ol' Charley Brown better get him on some Senior Blend dog food, he's tripled in weight at least!

That one was called "HappyHip" and I just added it to the Avatar section so now everybody can use it. (O boy, won't that be fun!)

For a beagle hound, Snoopy was a little misshapen to begin with, so I guess he's gained a little weight with age.

Years ago now, we had an Ice Skating rink that used a similar "animal" on skates as their logo. Now THAT looked wierd!

SO! It IS a Hippo!! Told ya' Ken, I wear tri-focals but the peepers ain't THAT bad!

OK .. So I'm on bi-focals and need to upgrade to tri's - is that it?

Just another reminder that gettin' old sucks.

OK, so now you've figured it out. It is a hippo. This all started long ago in high school. You remember when the fruit striped gum advertised by the fruit striped cartoon animals were big. Well, I started drawing fruit striped hippos on napkins for my girl friends. Then I started asking all the know it alls "So what does a hippo's tail look like?" We had to go to the zoo and harass a hippo out of the water to find out. Then my mother started buying me hippos for Christmas. Then everyone else started buying me hippo cards, stuffed hippos, hippo fake noses, hippo letter openers, hippo banks,.... You get the picture.

Then I get back into flying Stunt and all I hear is how you have to "build it light". So, being the contrarian I am I put a hippo as the pilot in one of my models. (Near the CG so it will have little effect on the turning rate About that time I moved to Salem and noticed this cute little graphic of a hippo in the classified section of the Oregonian (Portland's newspaper) and I thought ........ I could scan that into my computer and turn him into a cute little logo for my overweight models. And viola! Heavy Stunt coming to a contest near you. "Other boys like girls with curls but I like Oreos!" Too many more and I'll have to buy some of Bruce's decals to mark my service in the far Northwest chapter of heavy semi-stunt!

That's a cool logo. People ask me all the time what EGP stands for (I have it on all my planes).

Godzilla comes from my Quake days. I used to play deathmatches with the other engineers at lunch over the LAN. I was always the green guy. I tried a bunch of names. One day I tried Godzilla. It just stuck.

I went undefeated on time for like a year. The guys stopped wanting to play...

People read a lot more into it than it really is. Maybe the Big Green is not a cute as a hippo. Maybe its the whole fire breathing thing...
