Weather today was pleasant but winds were a bit treacherous. We had a tremendous turnout, and had some visiting celebrities beside our usual group; like Art Adamisin and Jim Van Loo!

Following are some photos. Sorry, I had to leave before final results were in. Today was Basic Flight, Profile, Old Time, Classic, and Combat. Tomorrow PAMPA classes are flown. Hope I got all these names & Planes right!

Bruce, Thanks for posting the great pictures. Turnout Sunday was every bit as good as Saturday, and the weather was almost perfect. The final count on contestants was 48. WOW! I don't have time to post all results, but Robbie Gruber beat Curtis Comer in expert 538.5 to 538. All in all it was a really great weekend and I want to thank all who attended and flew or just came to watch. We're glad to see every one of you. Also I have to thank all the MCLS members who really make this contest possible.

The last picture of the Smoothie is Toby Acierno.
If it has Veco all over the plane,flyer and powered by a Veco 35, it's Toby.

Thanks for the correction. I had Toby in my notes, but since I knew he had the red/white Tbird, I thought I made a mistake assigning him ownership of the Smoothie also. His planes are really nice looking!

To Bill Francis and Company from MCLS:

Thanks for an OUTSTANDING Event! The weather was excellent albeit a bit turbulent on friday. Sunday was stunt heaven! I had the opportunity to meet alot of new folks that I only hear about in SN or here online.

It was a long drive (10hr) but I thought well worth the trip. I hope to talk the event up and bring a truckload of people (well maybe two or three) next year!

The profile event was particularly fun as we dont often have the opportunity to fly head to head with experts, advanced and all for the same judges--its neat to see where we really stack up.

I have been plodding along for several months getting a new shop built so I have a place to put all Dad's stuff that I inherited. I have it pretty well done, with everything set up and organized. I have spent some time refreshing myself on lathe operation (he had a Myford 7x19) and have made some venturis for my Magnum .36's using the info from PTG posted by Brett.

Hopefully will have time to finish some planes this winter and have some kind of fleet next spring. Otherwise, I guess you will see some more pictures of the other guys' ships!!
