Veco Spinner adapter nut.

Hi fella's, I have two veco S-2 1 1/4" spinners and would like to use them.....here's the problem. It requires an adapter nut to thread onto my engine and I don't have one. Does anyone know of a supply or a way to make one? I don't have much in the way of metal skills so it would have to be a siple way. I want to use it on an Enya .09 I also don't know how to measure the size thread I need, so any help there would be appreciated as well.

Until the last part about the Enya, I was going to tell you to go to a well suplied hardware store and look for *union* nuts. They are exactly like the ones that came with the spinner. However, I have only looked for 1/4 X 28 size. Don't know myself what size the Enya shaft is.

You can probably get by with one of the small CB associated union nuts as they make one in 6mm with an 8-32 screw. Tru Turn may also have what you need. Best to check their website

I bought a couple of these to fit 1/4-28 from Robert Eierman. He may have other sizes.

It might depend what version of Enya .09 that you have. I have a couple of early ones and they have a really wierd thread on the shaft. You should get some one to measure yours before you get too carried away buying stuff. Mine both measure 4.8 mm diameter with a .9 mm pitch. It makes rocking horse droppings look readily available.

OK, since you are talking about adapter nuts, I bought out the remaining stock of Irvine 3-blade spinners and got all of their adapter nuts in the deal. The spiners come with the standard 1/4 x 28 adapter nuts, but then I have adapter nuts in three different sizes as well in separate packages. If you know the thread of your prop shaft, I will probably have an adapter nut to fit it. Then the only question would be if the screw on the other side is the same.

If I remember correctly, the ENYA .09 has a 5mmx1 shaft.In any case I'm sure True Turn or CB have nuts to fit the shaft,but the other end is going to be 6-32 or 8-32depending on spinner size.The Veco spinner uses a 1/4-28 adaptor stud,so you'll have to re-tap that end.
You could also shorten and tap the 1/4-28 stud to take a 6-32 stud.
