So, awhile back I heard rumors that the plans for the Colossus may become available. I also heard that it was just possible that an Umland kit might be in the offing.
Any news on either?

Yup the rumor is true, it's me I'll be doing the Colossus and others http://www.builtrightflyright.net/futurekits.htm
anyway, I have received permission and the marked up plans from Jim Tichy
but it will not be right away because I several ahead and I also need to have the plans redrawn in CAD and then get it all approved by Jim Tichy and then a sample and yada, yada, yada. so it will be awhile

OK, I guess it's next year's project. Sure like Gordon's version. I've been looking for a 51/60 sized classic plane that could be pressed into PA service if needed. My first choice was the Colossus, but I suspect I'll go with a USA-1 or Jerry Worth "Mirage II" this year and save the Colossus for next year.
I'd really like to build a whiz-bang Umland Colossus kit.
