Wot no takers!
Someone must know a bit more about this engine?
I've just noticed that the exhaust is on the K&B Greenhead side instead of standard!
This engine was mass-produced in the former Soviet Union in the 1970's -80's, one of the few available to the public at "hobby shops". Iron piston/ liner, poor overall quality, difficult starts, low power, lots of noise!
As to the exhaust being on the "wrong" side: notice that both the backplate and the front part of the crankcase are removable, while the rest of the crankcase casting is symmetrical. I bet someone had it apart (more than once?), and put it together backwards.
Thanks Mike!
As I said it was to collect anyway....
I'll swap the front and back - what would having them the wrong way round have doen to the timing?
That ain't backards, the rest of your engines are! I've got green heads without removable parts that are pointing in the same direction, towards the outside of the circle IF you are flying Clockwise like George usta!

Exactly, it was common practice that time. I had done it also several times. It allows to have muffler on outer side of fuselage - saves weight on tip and gives clean fuselage.
I've got 3 Greenheads (and an 'early Veco') that way - if that's the way the Meteor's meant to be then fine - I woz only going on what Mike A said....
It seems to have some McCoy influence and maybe some Rossi on the front. Verryyy interestink, but strange.
