new ad with C/L planes

Browsing through a Flying Models magazine tonight and came across an ad on page 10 for aerojet model aircraft corp. The ad has two C/L planes advertised that are interesting. A profile twin-engine Pond Racer and a TR-1. Both are advertised as C/L profile racer.

I went to their website, www.aerojetmodelaircraft.com and clicked on "storefront" then C/L and saw another pic of the TR-1. Didn't look long enough to see if the Pond is shown.

Interesting. Thought I'd pass it along. Might have been in magazine for a long time, but I never buy them and usually miss the interesting stuff in them when I do.

The "muffler" does look a lot like a Mac's, but I'm pretty sure it is not. The center section is cylindical, with abrupt changes. The Mac's are probably hydro-formed from tube. I wonder if this is a Moki 2.5? Scott, you're the racer-guy/pitman. Whadayathink? Nice job of building a very ugly airplane. The model that interested me was the B&V in the R/C kits, but very expensive for very little aircraft, IMO. The LE shape needs some help on that one! Picky Steve

It would be nice if they had some descriptive text to show what the heck we're looking at. I fly Control Line, but I have NO idea what those planes are all about. Sure ain't stunt, tho...

I lifted the info off the webpage. The yellow viper picture would not download from the
companie's website. The TR-1 is the answer to Sig's "Buster" "Shoestring" More money though.

Sterling Models once made a "Viper" but that plane is totally different.

Had to tweak it a bit but here it is...

I just looked and they also had a 1/2A Norvel powered stunter. It looks like it has a foam core wing, but they data under the photo says solid balsa. They are kits. But I didn't see the Pond Racer.

I saw the pond racer at the Southwest Modeling conference.
It felt like at least 32oz and a very small wing, maybe 80 sq inches.
Definetly not for stunt. The guy at the booth did not seem pleased that someone might be interested in their stuff, so I didn't look at the other models.

The TR-1 is a Goodyear racer. That's a racing tank with quick-fill, and it's got a tuned pipe. Not sure what the engine is.

Yup, Class I or II. Looks nice, also looks nice that they have predrilled landing gear. Wonder if what it's made of? Sig's airplanes are purportedly OK but nowhere near modern for Goodyear racign, might be wuth checkin out. Cute little sucker anyways.
