Don't ask.... a truce is declared by me, and the next step is to draw out a "squarin' off circle" in the yard.

Ok, what about the .61-.65 piped TBF? possibly the geo Bolt wing and similar numbers. (??)

Not as "scale" as Al's ships, but gotta have the right "look".
Don't have a big 4S, but got pipes and engines.

Bill,

In your original post about the TBF I think I read you were thinking of a profile ship. Is this correct or are you thinking full body? It would hide a pipe in the belly very nicely. Years ago I had a full scale TBF and it looked good in the air. It even cut a good corner too! Well, better tham me anyway. Glad to see you here and I won't ask either.

Bill the TBF is a big un and a Saito 72 is pretty cheap.....Barrel fuse might need a big prop & torque..just my opinion.

I re-read my response and I think it could be taken in the "wrong way". What I meant was: "cheap" is a relative term.
I do appreciate the suggestion, and when the 4s become available on the "used market" at what are reasonable FOR ME prices, I will probably try one.

We (Aaron and I) are real lucky about obtaining excellent used engines.
To admit it, we have exactly "one" *new* engine, and it hasn't been out of the box. Take that back, a flying buddy recently *gave* me a NIB DS 40 to use.
Economic situations are very different for different people. I *could* buy a new 4s, but then I wouldn't be able to build a plane for it, or wouldn't be able to go to a contest, or some other situation.

edit: P.S. NC is real near the bottom of the pay scales nationally for secondary teachers, even if you have a Master's degree!

A full scale TBF/TBM would be great with a pipe. The pipe could be hidden quite well in the torpedo bay. This is what you meant by TBF right?

Yep...
Many, many color schemes for TBF/M- all the way from military of several countries to civil water bomber.
Hiding the pipe in the fuselage should be no problem a neat idea.
