Flying Model Collectibles is done, Thanks Evreyone

This post is to let everyone know I have finished my book on Flying Model Collectibles. For the past year it has ocuppied a large part of my time and has been a dream come true to be a published author. Many Thanks to PAMPA, and the stunt gang here in the Northwest. Five years ago I started modeling again, I am still mad that all my RC gear became obsolete in 1990. Also a special thanks to the contributors, Mike Hazel, Bob and Peggy Parker, Bill and Carolyn Darkow, Bob Maschi, Herman Chairez, Injae Chung, PHD., Bob Christ, Deanna Lee, Gary Oakins, Mike Baker and my publisher Peter Schiffer. After taking 1500 photos this was scaled down at the publishers request to a little over 600 to make the book affordable. The text contains 100,000 words, I am not sure what that translates into pages but the book is about 200 pgs. Since this was a big subject to put into one book and I tried to cover the more common items being collected but there are many included that are rare. It is not difinitive or a book that once and for all settles this subject, just the beginning. Most of all a fun book. The book covers engines, kits, magazines, books, AMA stuff, awards, accessories, RC gear, and some brief history and items from the Plymouth Meets, and 1947 Minneapolis Nationals. It will be on the market around Feb.1, 2004 and sell for $30. Any questions about the book can be addressed to [email protected] . The past 4 1/2 years of flying stunt have been some of the most fun I have had in my modeling career. The guys flying here in the Northwest are some of the finest men I could hang out with and inspired me to do this project, thanks to all of you for making a dream come true, Jim Johnson
